PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF MEDICAL WORKERS: THEORETICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the topical issue of the importance of the psychological component of communicative competence of medical professionals. The authors have studied academic sources that represent modern approaches to the definition of «communicative competence». Scientific research has confirmed that thanks to the developed communicative competence, a person is able to successfully establish partnerships and business contacts, demonstrate readiness for communicative interpersonal, educational, and professional interaction. Based on the study of this issue, it has been concluded that communicative competence is manifested primarily in communication – interpersonal communicative interaction, namely the ability to establish and maintain various communicative contacts and relationships with other people; the ability to demonstrate one's own communicative abilities and realize the potential of personal resources in the process of communicative actions. In the communicative competence of medical workers, the importance of such formations as communicative control over oneself and the interlocutor, openness, tolerance, empathic contact, low conflict, desire to help, orientation towards social needs, and desire to cooperate is emphasized. Research into the problem of developing the communication skills of medical students requires the updating of educational technologies for information and communication training, taking into account a competency-based approach to the organization of the educational process and the adjustment of curricula for social sciences.
