Abstract

The article reveals the theoretical aspects of emotional regulation as a key factor in overcoming conflict behavior during adolescence. It emphasizes that adolescence is a critical stage of psychological development, during which the emotional sphere, self-awareness, and social identity are formed. At this stage, adolescents experience intensive internal changes that lead to increased emotional excitability, impulsivity, and a tendency toward conflict reactions. Theoretical analysis shows that the level of emotional regulation development directly affects an individual’s ability to control behavioral impulses, respond adequately to stressful situations, and maintain constructive communication with peers and adults. Emotional self-regulation is considered an important mechanism for developing social competence, empathy, and moral responsibility, which contribute to reducing conflict in interpersonal relationships. It is noted that a low level of emotional regulation is one of the causes of aggressiveness, verbal hostility, anxiety, and social alienation among adolescents. Within the theoretical framework, it is determined that the development of skills in emotional awareness, management of emotional states, and restoration of emotional balance contributes to psychological resilience and the harmonization of social interaction. Attention is focused on the role of the family, school, and psychological support in forming constructive strategies of emotional regulation. The importance of preventive work aimed at developing emotional competence as a foundation for effectively overcoming conflict behavior in adolescence is highlighted. It is concluded that the formation of emotional regulation skills is a crucial direction of psycho logical and pedagogical support for adolescents, ensuring their psychological well-being, social adaptation, and the development of a harmonious personality.
