EMPIRICAL STUDY OF STRESS RESISTANCE OF ADOLESCENTS IN CONDITIONS OF REGULAR AIR ALARMS

Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study on the peculiarities of stress resistance in adolescents under conditions of регуляр air raid alerts as a специфічний stress factor of wartime. The relevance of the study is determined by the increased psycho-emotional нагрузка on adolescents caused by chronic danger, uncertainty, and threats to life. The aim of the study is a comprehensive analysis of adolescents’ stress resistance, emotional states, anxiety levels, and coping strategies in the context of war-related stressors. The sample consisted of 48 adolescents aged 13–14. During the empirical stage of the study, the following methods were employed: the Stress Behavior Self-Assessment Questionnaire (V. Boyko); the Self-Assessment of Emotional States Technique (A. Wessman, D. Ricks); the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (C. Spielberger, Yu. Khanin); the Coping Behavior in Stressful Situations Inventory (S. Norman, D. Endler, D. James, M. Parker; adapted by T. Kryukova). The results indicate that despite the prevalence of relatively adaptive behavioral patterns, a significant proportion of adolescents demonstrate heightened anxiety, emotional tension, and a tendency toward maladaptive coping strategies, particularly avoidance.
