Abstract

Modern socio-cultural changes have a significant impact on educational processes, which emphasizes the importance of studying the impact of different educational styles on the formation of value orientations among teenagers. The article examines the influence of different styles of upbringing on the formation of value orientations of adolescents aged 17–19 years in the context of modern socio-cultural changes. In modern society, significant changes are taking place in the social, cultural and technological spheres, which are changing traditional ideas about education and its role in the formation of a personality. These changes include a wide range of factors, such as the digital revolution, globalization, and changes in family structure and social institutions. Therefore, this study combines theoretical analysis and empirical research to determine how different parenting styles (authoritarian, democratic, and liberal) contribute to the formation of such important traits as autonomy, social responsibility, critical thinking, and tolerance. The research uses a comprehensive approach, which includes a literature review, a comparative analysis of educational styles, as well as an empirical study conducted through questionnaires and interviews among teenagers of different sociocultural groups. The results of the study show that the democratic style of education most contributes to the development of critical thinking and social responsibility in adolescents, while the authoritarian style can limit their ability to adapt in changing socio-cultural conditions. A liberal parenting style proved to be less effective in shaping responsibility, but promotes emotional openness. The authors draw attention to the need to adapt educational strategies to modern challenges faced by teenagers in a world where technology, globalization and cultural changes constantly influence the formation of their personality. Significant theoretical and practical implications for the further development of educational and social policies that contribute to the harmonious development of youth are emphasized.
