MECHANISMS OF GROUP INTEGRATION OF ASOCIALLY ORIENTED GROUPS OF ADOLESCENTS IN THE CONTINUUM OF LIFE

Abstract

The article discusses the mechanisms of adaptation of antisocially oriented adolescents to various groups and environmental conditions. An assessment from the standpoint of the constitutional and continuum space of the adolescent’s personality, which is the differential basis of our study, is added. The external conditions and internal factors that predispose adolescents to imitation are highlighted. The functioning of the mechanism of interpersonal interaction in groups of adolescents is also considered, which is as follows: in the process of interaction with other people, adolescents seek to demonstrate their inner world, their experiences and states. The sources of balance or imbalance of the mechanisms of projection and introjection are identified, considered in the dynamic features of the personality, as well as in the features of specific communication. Observations of antisocial groups of adolescents show that their participants are more likely than anyone else to be interpersonally evaluated and to relate themselves to others. In the process of perceiving and cognizing both themselves and others, much depends not so much on general cultural development and intellectual abilities as, in our opinion, on the constitutional level of adequacy of self-awareness, which forms self-esteem, self-control and self-regulation of behavior. Using modified methods of sociometric survey and unfinished sentences, the groups identified indices of individual and group sociometric status, level of conflict, cohesion, individual and group acceptability, and resilience. Based on these indicators, group members were stratified according to their role and place in the group. The analysis of questionnaires and data allowed us to establish that in groups of asocial and criminal orientation, characterological and behavioral identification is evident, which is manifested in the identification of adolescents with the standard qualities of the group and its leaders, with the leveling of higher personality traits that are unacceptable in asocial groups.
