SPECIFIC FEATURES OF CHANGES IN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL HARDINESS OF MILITARY PERSONNEL UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF RELATIONAL-IMAGERY-SCRIPT THERAPY

Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the characteristics of hardiness in military personnel in the context of psychotherapeutic support and inpatient treatment. Particular attention is paid to hardiness as a dynamic psychological resource that ensures the preservation of adaptive potential, the capacity for self-regulation, maintenance of a positive time perspective, constructive processing of difficult life events, and effective functioning under conditions of increased stress and workload. The aim of the study was to identify the specific features of the dynamics of hardiness indicators in military personnel depending on the conditions of psychological support and the clinical context. The study involved military personnel divided into three groups: a therapeutic intervention group, a control group, and a group of military personnel undergoing inpatient treatment. It was found that at the initial stage of the study, the groups were comparable in terms of the main hardiness indicators, which provided appropriate methodological grounds for analyzing within-group dynamics. According to the results of the repeated measurement, statistically significant within-group changes in the integral hardiness indicator were identified in the therapeutic intervention group and in the group of military personnel undergoing inpatient treatment, whereas no significant changes were recorded in the control group. The most pronounced decrease in hardiness was found in the inpatient treatment group. In the therapeutic intervention group, the identified changes were interpreted as a possible manifestation of primary therapeutic destabilization, associated with the actualization of experiences, increased reflexivity, and a decrease in the level of defensive-compensatory self-evaluation at the initial stages of psychotherapeutic processing
